![]() ![]() ![]() My brother couldn’t make it past the first 5 pages, which I thought was a little dramatic if I’m honest. I knew this wouldn’t be an ‘easy’ read before I started, having heard mixed things from others. It’s always felt like a dirty secret that I’m too afraid to admit but like I’ve said before, life is too short to force yourself to try and like something that clearly isn’t for you. There are some novels from this era that I’ve read and loved, but being completely honest, I’ve struggled with the majority that I’ve read. I would like to point out that I’m talking mainly about 19th and early 20th century classics, which are the ones that I tend to get on with the least. ![]() This most definitely comes from being a literature grad and always feeling as though I ought to love reading Dickens and Brontë and Faulkner. I have always felt an enormous amount of pressure to read and, more importantly, enjoy classics.
